Motor insurance question
In the past it's usually been a simple process to add a temporary driver to my insurance - a bit pricey but straightforward. Anyone had issues with doing it recently because eg Stirling Insurance won't entertain it! Could be just them or the comprehensive policy I've currently got but it's causing us problems and just wondered if it's general change of policy.

Haven't done it very recently but LV were brilliant.
Basically just run through the usual question as if asking for a quote, name, date of birth, accidents, convictions etc. etc. and that's it. And they held the details on file so if you wanted the person on again it was really, really easy. Very reasonable pricing too. I'll be interested to hear any recent experiences. |

Never had a problem with changes including adding drivers with Admiral multicar, but they usually charged an admin fee. I've just switched to NFU since they came highly recommended and it seems very easy to make changes with them as well. I just removed a ZTT 190 and added a Rover 2.5 and got a £50 rebate from NFU which was a pleasant surprise.

Unfortunately it's this kinda stuff people forget to ask when buying a policy now. So many are firmly rigid and won't change at all now. Again insurance is a con, at least Richard Turpin wore a mask!

I've been with NFU for about 5 years now, never had to make a claim (with NFU, or any other motor policy for that matter) and certainly find them easy to deal with.
Whilst no claims, I put our daughter on one car for a month, and have changed fixed mileage, which cars covered etc. a good few times, no issue at all. Certainly not the cheapest; middle of the pack, whenever I've compared, but there you go. Regards Mike

My daughter-in-law (in Canada) got it sorted a couple of days back with her mothers insurers Sterling but I've no idea what the initial problem she had was. Cost her £100 for two weeks plus a £45 admin. fee - which I thought was a bit steep!
