How long do the diesel injectors last?

I'm just wondering how many miles do the diesel injectors last on average before they start giving problems.

My car over the last 18 months or so developed a slightly rough idle, but it has always gone away after a day or so.

This time however, it's not going of it's own accord. I'm thinking possibly a warn injector/injectors. The car gas done 132k miles

Not knowing much about diesels I use Mannol esther additive into my CDTi fuel tank each time I fill up because I am doing low miles and I read diesel kind of goes off quickly and will then be more likely to start to gum up the injector. Others will have better ideas.

Can't imagine it's lack of use, it's used pretty much every day.

I was not raising lack of use, - but why not look at an injector cleaner additive as a first step?

Sorry, I mis understood you. I do run Millers Ecomax in the tank all the time.

I run mine on the cheapest derv I can find and always have done, but I do treat them to a bottle of decent injector cleaner before the MOT each year. They've never been out of the car and are still going strong at 428k miles.

One bottle of this every six months will help keep the injectors fairly clean, nowt is 100% sure.

You could also pull all four injectors and clean the tips, which will help with the spray pattern.

I know mine are barely run in at 153K but I've never added anything - just the occasional Italian tune-up when I remember - and she runs as sweet as any 20 year old diesel can I suppose.
