milage reset
i bought a service reset tool from "bizzy lizzie " some time ago , for the reset of the milage service settings for my kv6 . works a treat. does anyone know if this could be used on other cars ? i thought maybe a bmw vehicle of a similar age might possibly work , but would it work on V.W cars ? my neighbour asked as he has just done a service on his 2014 golf. i can read all obd 11 with my vag scanner ,and remove M.I.L , but it wont let me get into service reset . the car has the service light on permanently and he does not wish to donate £35.00 to the main dealer to have it removed. (dont blame him ). i am a little reluctant to try my reset tool on his OBD port as i would not want to corrupt any software . any thoughts anyone ??

Should work on a BM, I got one a while ago and sure it was advertised as a BMW reset tool.

Depending on the age of the BM, there are all sorts of tricks - Google for your mate's car.
On my old M3, this is how we did it

Get your mate to get on here:
https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/ It's the one I used when I had the Passat. They have their version of Arctic - a guy called "Crasher" with just shy of 40K (yes, you did read that right ) posts. The folks on that forum will be able to help. My first guess is he'll benefit from getting someone with VDCS (VW Diagnostic Computer System - I think). Think T4. I found them to be a very friendly bunch. Good luck. Last edited by AndyN01; 18th August 2022 at 16:12.. |

yes thanks for the replies. its the V.W golf 2014 im wondering if the system would not let the VAG scanner into itself , as i suppose this would be dealership territory and only accessed with the VW equivalent of the T4. ... just thought if anyone had tried on the VW vehicles. dont suppose there is a paperclip equivalent for this car .. i will try online .

all sorted gentlemen thankyou. was all on youtube ... just a few presses of IPK buttons. i should have checked there first !! reason why my VAG would not do it was it cannot. i suppose it could be done certainly with the VW kit but the service menu in the car sorts it out. thankyou for all replies , appreciated as always .
