Default Evel Knievel

Evel Knievel, the hard-living motorcycle daredevil who cheated death time and time again, has died at the age of 69.

As a Kid he was my Hero and many of my School Chums.

Does anyone remember the Evel Knievel "Wind Up and let rip" Motorcycle ?

My Friend and I used to climb up onto his parents Garage roof and zoom Evel Knievel (The Toy) off the Garage roof and see how far he could "Leap"

A great loss.

For those who do not remember the Toys........

Indeed a shame, still quite Young, a Great Man.

He died of Complications after a long illness brought about by Diabetes Complications and Lung Disease, pulmonary fibrosis, a scarring of the lungs.
Having to use a Permanent Pump for last two years for Pain Relief caused by many of the 40 Bones he Badly broke during his career including his Back 7 times.
He was 69 Years old, Married twice with four Children.

His famous Statement was
"Anybody can jump a motorcycle,"
"The trouble begins when you try to land it."

For a jump over 13 double-decker buses in London's Wembley Stadium in 1975, he was paid $1 million, a fortune at the time.

Great man ,

I once went to see him jump over 26 (I think) double decker busses at Wembly stadium, a great day out
