Today I removed the remains of the Klarius exhaust I fitted to my diesel tourer only three years ago
The first two fell off within 3 months each due to the hangers being welded to the outer skin only - fractured around the welds and detached, both returned for warranty. This system managed not to fall off, but corroded excessively and given it was fitted to a diesel I would have expected it to last much longer (the original system lasted 16 years before it died). I fitted a nice new Longlife stainless system which will hopefully last as least as long as the original.

Loads of things I want to do, but the weather was uninspiring to say the least. But I did manage to check all the fluids and apply white lithium grease to all of the door hinges and linkages. Opening much smoother now!

A Saturday afternoon job, gave the Zed a thorougly good wash as she'd done quite a few miles over the last couple of weeks and looked like she'd been rallying. Also cracked on with cleaning out the window seals. Trim removal tools and an old toothbrush got rid of what must have been 16 years of accumulated crud. Now all four glide up and down with no grinding. Will whack in some Teflon lubricant at some point when I can find it. I know it's in the shed somewhere.
In addition to that, managed to fashion a proper Heath Robinson fix for the hellishly annoying rattling driver's side door lock button. It's been buzzing at speeds above 40 for the past few months and as it's only about 30cm from my right ear, it's been driving me bonkers. Solution - a length of heat shrink tubing over the button, trimmed to length. I think it's 8mm diameter and you don't need to heat it to get a snug fit. That part of the cabin is now buzz free!

Started
So today's job was battery and associated gubbins removed , complete exhaust removal , clutch disconnected, steering rack undone and tied up , driveshaft nuts undone, subframe off and in the shed.
That was enough for today especially as Mr farmer decided to muck spread in the field next to me. Stan

Washed it (several times) to get the desert sand off it! Never can get it clean 1st time; always muddy bits left when it dries; its dark blue so it shows!

Drove the gold one to work to give it a run, will be calling at the local car wash on the way home to remove the sand that was deposited on it last week.
