Default Why?

Why have I bought this masonry fixing? It's Rover/MG related and I'll post the answer later with an explanation.

bolting the gearbox back together? I wouldnt bother, just use some gripfill and duct tape, the gripfill will seal the joint too

You fix the bolt to a wall, then attach a chain to it, and reverse at full speed, to straighten out the bent cross member on the accident damaged car you have just bought.?

Default The Answer.

Both Pete and Dave are right, I suppose everyone knows I'm doing my clutch so it was an educated guess. My clutch lining tools are elsewhere and I didn't need the hassle of cobbling something up. I used the masonry fixing and an old ZT centre cap to bolt them together, I then mounted the whole lot as one unit on the newly cleaned DMF and undid the bolt, gave it a tap to free it and hey presto, job done. It worked a treat and should help others.
