So here is my Jaguar but how did I get there!

Firstly as many of you know I've been around here for many years albeit quiet for some considerable time due to an incredibly pressured position working for the Chinese that had me jetting around the world and therefore neglecting my 75 that was left to gather dust in my garage.

Being an advocate for the 75 I could not let my car sit unloved and so decided it was best to sell so the new owner could have the pleasure of ownership.

However my 75 is now up for sale but attempts to contact the seller have fallen on deaf ears



I'm rambling. After leaving the Chinese I took early retirement and despite considering a 75 again in my quiet search I stumbled across a Jaguar 3.0 V6 and must say I was smitten. I bought the car and spent a considerable amount bringing it up to standard. Still some work to do but getting there and it's a perfect weekender. I've changed the grilles to mesh upper and lower, new CAT, tyres, shocks, air suspension etc etc. So as you Jag owners know it doesn't come cheap.

Before I post some pics below (I need to get some new updated ones) I can say that a 75 is still on my mind and the hunt goes on.....

Sadly it left my ownership 3 years or so ago but is now up for sale again but the seller has not responded to me.

Oh I see, I have found the other thread now and I don't envy your decision, but if I were you I would buy the 75 back and keep all three.

I hope the seller replies back to your message, in my experience using the carsandclassics website, the message function can be quite slow.

I absolutely love the Bentley, can't believe your selling her. I'd bite yourhand off if we had the space, but then, that's the story all over I guess. So much car for the money - my wife's Hyundai i20 cost more to buy!

The purchase price is good for the Bentley and they hold their money if well maintained, but that's the issue you need to have a Bentley stamp and that's not cheap sadly. Servicing can be horrendous even with minimum Miles covered

You have obviously never driven a Bentley. I know the shape is too boxy for many, but the drive is fantastic. Just wish I had the space! Not that I am saying Jags are bad - I have 7 in my stable.

All cars are horses for courses, the Bentley drive is totally different to any other car I've owned. Firstly the size of the car is a factor plus it's weight and therefore the stopping distance always is a consideration something other road users do not appreciate when cutting in front of you.

The Bentley unlike it's Rolls Royce partner is more of a drivers car with a firmer ride you can really throw it into corners without spilling the passengers champers as it's auto levelling suspension is superb even on this old car. The steering is really light but responsive.

With the 7.5 litre engine and despite the weight acceleration is awesome. So it should be at 12MPG!

All that said it's not an easy car to drive and you are constantly concentrating behind the wheel. When parked up allow 30 mins as somebody always wants to chat to you and view the car.

And the Jag, well that is a drivers car love it!

But for design and a smile on your face with a look back over your shoulder when parked it has to be the Rover 75.
