No it hasn't Steve, thanks very much for that. It is indeed one of the earliest we know about, and its VIN is adjacent to another already on our list. Shame that there aren't more photographs.

May have been painted to match mind.

As for the xenons, common mistake, as it has headlight washers the guy is assuming it has xenon
Interesting car. The first two things that stroke me also were the Xenons and the painted real sill. Looks like a well preserved car (from the pictures). Low number of km with respect to its age although not exceptional (in France it's considered normal to have around 10000 km per year for a Gasoline engine per year).

It is a shame there are no more pictures, it is also a shame it is at the other end of the country or i would have been going to look at it.

Default Two 'dealer launch' in convoy

What are the odds against this? This afternoon another 75 pulled out of a side road and we drove in convoy for a few miles. It was Wedgwood Blue with headlamp washers, sunroof and crown wheels, built at Cowley. I could see that the steering wheel rim definitely wasn't sandstone beige and neither was the upholstery. A quick check of the registration, V33 REX, shows that it has the 2.5 litre engine and was registered within days of mine!

So the likelihood is that it is a dealer launch car, but of course I could not check the interior equipment or speak to the driver who seemed oblivious to the situation we were in.

Mine can be added to this list. I've just put a deposit on this. It's the same spec exactly as that listed at the start of this thread. I'm pretty sure that the parking sensors are retro fitted.

It's very good, a few tidying up jobs needed here and there but an absolute bargain for what i paid. It was my first drive of a v6, only had 1.8s so far. Was lovely! Shoud be picking it up over the next week.
I've not got the paperwork yet but from memory the vin is 101024, registered on 4/11/99.
Will let you know how I get on and what it's like.

Very well bought, Sir! I thought about buying that very car, around a year ago, when it was at Ben Hodgson Car Sales, in Cumbria, and I think it's changed hands again since. It's not too many miles since I considered it, though the price has halved. I seem to recall that the belts needed done, so it's worth checking to see if that is still the case.
Very best of luck with the new car.

This looks like another dealer launch spec car - T914 RPL - sold without MOT as a project, currently sitting at £130 with two days left to go...

DVLA vehicle enquiry shows it was registered on the Rover 75 launch date of 17th June 1999, so could be a low VIN...?

I'd ummed and ahhed but shan't be bidding - too many cars until I've sold something - but I'd rather see it put back on the road than broken for parts!

I would say that is indeed a launch car.

One day I will own one...

It looks an easy project for the winter months. The MOT failure isn't that bad considering the age of the car. The bodywork should be easy enough to sort.

A rare car that needs saving.
