Lovely to see your car as there weren't many Chatsworth cars and none with your seats in from what I can remember.

Enjoy your break in the UK

Nic
Hi Nic, it was very nice to hear the stories you told us. Keep in mind that what was perhaps an every day's job for you at the time, is a nice story to hear for a lot us (members) now. Only the context is different. You must have had a great time at MG Rover! Except for the closing part of course...

Regarding the book, the start and end is the most difficult part I can imagine. If you ever write one, put me down for a copy please. 30 or 300 pages does not matter, even without a real start and end. If writing is not your thing next year's National Club Meeting could be a good time to tell part 2 life as you did now.

And my car, that's a story on it's own, perhaps I will write a book about that. I have it 7 years now and did 100.000km + with it myself and we have had some interesting adventures together.

Thanks again for your stories, looking forward meeting you again.

Cheers,

Rob.

No we didn't have an announcement.....partly because I forgot

Right then, I'm taking a break from organising the next National, I hope you'll agree I've maybe earned one So we canvassed ideas for a location from the Regional Secretaries and it's been decided that the venue is to be at

Drumlanrig Castle in Scotland. A date has yet to be confirmed, but is likely to be late August or early September.

Simondi of the mod team has kindly agreed to work with the relevant RS's to move things along, so watch for further announcements in due course.

Hope that helps.

I could swear I was told that the organisers of the POL will not be holding it next year. Shame

Their website and recent update would seem to say differently

http://www.austinlongbridgefederation.co.uk/

contained within

Default The 16th National Club Meet & Pride Of Longbridge Event 12th & 13th April 2014

Unless things really pick up, I do not think I will make the National next year at Drumlanrig Castle. 6hrs27 and 377miles each way is a bit much on a car in the low 20s mpg. Would have been nice for the experience though. Would cost me 3 tanks to get there and back, sorry. However if the POL is going ahead, may well make that

Get the book started Nic, get those stories and anecdotes down on paper! Thanks to everybody for the photos, I had a quick look round the museum when I went for some food but didn't get chance to look round our cars. I was under the impression that POL might be a 2 day event next year, if not I'm certain it will happen in its current form as it's the tenth anniversary
