Today arrived a set of new pistons and pistonrings for the silver beauty:

Now I´m still waiting for Dave´s modified vis-motors and a kaiser thermostat and the engine can be completely rebuilt.

The Kaiser thermostat arrived today:

I think I´ll sand and polish it a little bit for a more beautiful appearance.

Some peanuts for the engine:

Metal t-pieces (red bronze) and a metal bleed-screw (anodised aluminium) for the cooling system. These are custom-made fit-and-forget items and unfortunately not available in larger quantities. A friend of our local club mechanic made them and I was favoured by fortune to get two sets of them for both my cars.

Piston broke? I see your pistons but not sure about the rings. Off to the right of your pists, is that them?

Yes, right to the pistons you can see the set of rings. The old pistons were not broken but their measurement resulted in data beyond the specs. Presumably a consequence of the overheating following a rapid loss of coolant in January.

Another gimmick ... illuminated steering wheel switches for the radio and cruise control:

This is the stuff offered by member neilbaker86 last year.

This morning I got all these parts to my mechanic. The plan is to bring back the silver beauty on the road within the next four weeks.

Do you have a link to the switches? My interest is tickled.

Dougie.

...and some more items for the silver beauty:
Switch and five-hole-panel for the rear sunblind:

Chrome door finishers:

And a set of Daves modified vis-motors. Thank you very much, Dave!
