Today I’ve replaced a badly cracked near side tail light cluster on my ZT-T.
The car came with one badly cracked tail light when it bought it in June. It’s taken a while to find a suitable replacement for the tourer with locating tabs all in one piece and also with the correct ZT clear indicator/reverse lamp, not the smoked 75 version. I’ve also replaced the LH side mirror cap with another Trophy blue one as this was another damaged item on the car prior to my ownership. I’ve also given it a wash and and spray with Finish Kare #425 detailer. Not bad for a Friday afternoon. I might give my MG ZR a wash over the weekend at some point too. |

A clutch and flywheel change, also bottom arms and bushes while the subframe was off (far easier than doing them in situ) the muck that came out of the master cylinder was a bit nasty!

That looks foul !! At least that isn't one of my main worries at the moment, for me today was spent chasing a little tinworm at the back of the sill. Unfortunately not only the sill, but the lower part of the inner wheelarch needed attention. Lots of cardboard templates, a couple of hours with the tinsnips, and a few more with the welder, and some structural improvements have been made. I've not had this much fun since I was rebuilding a Capri in 1987 !! |

Wow! Most impressive, makes my little " what I did" seem a bit limp!
But, here we go. So, swapped out the auto dim rear view with a manual type. My own preference as mine didn't dip when I wanted it to. Many thanks for an quick answer to my "help" post this morning. I'm sure it would of ended in a broken windscreen if I'd of continued trying to refit the way I was. I couldn't find begger all in the Haynes on it. Part (2) My rubber trim that sits on the windscreen from the plastic scuttle panel looked odd to me as it was too short. And me being me, I didn't take any photo's of before, but I did take some while I was swapping it out. I bought some off fleabay, I'll post details of the place later, but basically I removed the scuttle panel, pulled off the old existing trim and replaced and glued a new strip on, which is now long enough and doesn't look odd.

20200809_104117 by Richard Rowley, on Flickr It sits nicely on the scuttle panel. I glued it on as the original was held on with a thin strip of double sided tape, but unfortunately I had run out! Then I trimmed it to match the ends of the panel, I had a good inch either side short with the original.
