Clutch problem

Hello you all.
Last week the complete clutch of my rover 75 diesel from 2004 has been changed. Drove all week well till tonight on a mountain top in the middle of nowhere in Scotland. No pressure on the pedal anymore. After some searching under the bonnet I found a copper pipe laying loose. I think it's the bleeding pipe from the clutch. Anyone who can tell me if that's an easy fix? Thanks already for your help and advice.

Can you post a pic of the loose pipe?

It is strange if its a copper pipe as the slave cylinder has metal pipes not copper.

You could have a Tazu metal slave cylinder fitted if it has a copper pipe, these have mixed reviews from owners, from good to 'failed after a few weeks'

My partner is still at the car somewhere on a mountaintop waiting for the RAC to tow the car to here.
Then we can have a look in the morning in daylight.

Oh joy! If you have a USB type camera, have a look inside the bellhousing for signs of fluid leaking, also check the clutch master cylinder for signs of dampness.

This joint in the middle of the clutch pipe may have come apart.

To Colvert.. no it's the other pipe who came completely out of the cylinder. the one you show is completely new and still attached everywhere.
it's a bit w problem that I can't attach any photos here otherwise it would be easier to explain
Other problem is that the car is still standing on a desolated hilltop in the middle of nowhere in Scotland (near Banchory).... The RAC was coming but has been giving upo to now an really awful service.Yesterday waited from 8pm till after midnight, went back this morning because they said that they would be there at 8.15 am but when wee were there and called back after a half hour they said it would take at least 2 more hours. Disgraceful for that company

If you are talking about the clutch slave cylinder when you say you found a pipe under the bonnet then I can't see how it could have come loose in that fashion.---

However if it's pipe from the slave cylinder then to replace it the gearbox will have to be removed.


Has the pipe you found got a bleed nipple on the end of it ??


In the pic below you will see two pipes coming out of the slave cylinder. One pipe comes from the connector. ( The pic I put in an earlier post. )

The other pipe goes to a bleed nipple on the top of the outside of the gearbox. ( The second pic below. )

I can't see how either of the pipes in the picture below could possibly come loose with one of these pipes, you seem to have found, under the bonnet.--
