A splash screen is a temporary image that appears showing the software logo or any message when this software is loading.

My friend had a tom tom with his 407 instead of the little arrow, how does that work as opposed to what you have?

Tried to customise my start up screen but ended up loosing the Tom Tom one and no cutomised one either, now just a blank screen. Decided to leave it alone while it is still guiding the way! Me and technology dont seem to get along.

Just out of interest , Changed the startup screen in my Garmin Nuvi 1340 , used the image here and changed it to JPEG, there is a function in Garmind to let you save a picture as a start up screen.
