Saw The Monkeys at Wembley Arena about 15 years ago. Great fun and they did not take themselves too seriously. Sad day.

My sister (29) met him last year on the Monkees tour, being a fan and collector of Monkees memrobilia. He obviously had time for his fans. She phoned to tell me about the sad news.
Like you Flyer, I woke up on Saturdays mornings to the Monkees.
RIP Davy Jones

He lived about four miles from us back in the 80s. I never met him but I knew people from his village and they said he was just an ordinary bloke who liked his horses and lived his life how he wanted to.

I first remember him when he played Ena Sharples or someone elses Grandson in Corrie st.

RIP Davy Jones

I read somewhere the the Monkees where the first manufactured band?

The were good and I remember watching as a kid. Soo funny.

Mike Nesmith's mother invented Tipex I believe. (Sad trivia).

Yes, me too (and I don't have to run for cover as I'm very far away )

Sad News indeed. I also liked the Monkees when I was much younger
