Painted discs

My new discs arrived today, so I decided to paint the exposed surfaces before fitting, to make them look better and to try to keep at bay, the normal rusting issues with brake discs. I'll clean up the pad contact areas when the paint is dry

Dont worry about cleaning them off; the pads will sort that for you

You need to get the paint off the hub face where it will mate with the wheel. This can cause the wheel to sit a tiny bit off when bolted, and can cause judder/vibration. Other than that, good job! I do this too.

Most Genuine MG Rover discs come painted silver anyway.

My fronts certainly all have.

Its a very good anti corrosive paint too.

It's about 20micros (if rattle can) Steve, the grease behind on the inside will be at LEAST 70-200micros. I've painted the face of my discs for 40yrs, never had the slightest wobble because of the thickness of a coat of paint. In fact the oil you get with it in the box to protect them is thicker.

Looking good Steve,that inner edge you have painted ain't visible anyway.Just give the flats a smear of Copper Grease before fitting the road wheel.

Cheers Paul. I had a close look at my old ones through the wheels and all the bits I have painted are visible
