Lol.
Usually correct, but the deck on a Mountfield mower had some surprises there for me. Just in time spotted the reverse threads on some items including one of the blades in time. Good policy to ask the question from someone else if you can. That's why this forum is so good.

The same goes for the tensioner on the diesel when you do the belts, lefty is for pulling back the tensioner to remove it it is righty.

Rev

..and if you replace the oil seal O ring on the cap, make sure you put it in the correct location on the cap. It fits not directly under the cap lip, but into the groove below the lip. Under the cap lip it will hold pressure for a mile or two without leaking. Don't ask me how I know , but luckily I only drove it to the local supermarket, before spotting the little puddle underneath.

..and the cap needs the proper socket to be able to release it, they are very tight and plastic, easily damaged without the proper socket.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I've never really seen the logic in that saying. If you put a spanner on a bolt to undo it, if the spaner is at the 12 o'clock poistion, then anti clockwise is to the left, as in the saying, but if the spanner is at the 6 o'clock position, anti clockwise would mean turning it to the right Am I missing something (I usually am!)?

I didn't expect this to get so complicated.

No, it doesn't apply to left handed threads, yes, there will always be a position that you will be in that the rule does not apply.

But, looking down from the top of the oil filter removable cap, turn it to the left to unscrew.
