Lol.
Usually correct, but the deck on a Mountfield mower had some surprises there for me. Just in time spotted the reverse threads on some items including one of the blades in time. Good policy to ask the question from someone else if you can. That's why this forum is so good. |

..and if you replace the oil seal O ring on the cap, make sure you put it in the correct location on the cap. It fits not directly under the cap lip, but into the groove below the lip. Under the cap lip it will hold pressure for a mile or two without leaking. Don't ask me how I know , but luckily I only drove it to the local supermarket, before spotting the little puddle underneath. ..and the cap needs the proper socket to be able to release it, they are very tight and plastic, easily damaged without the proper socket.

Oil Filter O-ring position, there is a section on the filter to help you to hook the O-ring to remove it photos below.
Note the cut out section on the filter 1 Remove and change the O-ring. 2 make sure you put the O-ring in the correct place, this photo shows you where not to put it indicated by the hook 3 This photo is is correct. 4 yes Always add the filter to the pot 5 Then the filter top later. 6

I've never really seen the logic in that saying. If you put a spanner on a bolt to undo it, if the spaner is at the 12 o'clock poistion, then anti clockwise is to the left, as in the saying, but if the spanner is at the 6 o'clock position, anti clockwise would mean turning it to the right Am I missing something (I usually am!)?

No, it doesn't apply to left handed threads, yes, there will always be a position that you will be in that the rule does not apply. But, looking down from the top of the oil filter removable cap, turn it to the left to unscrew.
