Low line satnav problem

My low line mk3 sat nav system does not work sometimes.
When i press the On button it does not go on/become green.(the red light on the mk3 unit is on.
When i unplug the mk3 unit in the back and plug it on it works fine for a view times. and sometimes after a view days it works
