You can still use your car, Use a length of tube and pipe clips to connect the 2 FBH water pipes together while you do the rebuild.
If it's making no heat at all in half hour there's a good chance it will need a clean out, but from what I've read it should of shut itself down. For the cost of the kit (£23) and a bit of time it's worth doing the rebuild then see how it behaves. At least if it is a PCB issue you know the insides are all good once it's up and running properly.

That's a good idea, it should have been obvious as not all diesels had one! I did remove & replace number 8 fuse.
How do you close of the fuel line? Also, where did you get the repair kit?
Thanks
Rob

If you look on page 1 post 6 of this thread there is a How too link and in that a link to Bowers who supply the kit. You want the 9000861A Webasto Gaskets kit for Thermo Top Z/C. Read the How too properly because not every gasket and seal is in the kit, there are 3 you keep from your FBH. The fuel line can be blocked with a small bolt and tape, until dosing pump works no fuel will come through. Also when removing the plugs on top of the FBH make sure you unplug the Big 6 pin first and plug it back in last or it can affect the PCB.
As said it's an easy job just messy. good luck.
Lee.

Lee, fwiw, I timed my fbh this morning.
Outside temp: 7 deg c
Car engine: off
Started FBH.
Rechecked after 18 mins.
Coolant temp at 70 deg c on obd.
(I should have checked after 15mins, as I think the FBH had already ramped down.)
Anyway, started car and turned fan blower on, and set off to work.
After a few hundred metres, temp dropped to 60 deg, before rising again slowly.

Thankyou very much for doing that, Coincidentaly I did the same about 2 hours ago.
Ambiant temperature 8c
Coolant 9c
Engine not running
After 10 mins temp at 23c
After 20 mins temp at 30c. Guess my next move is contact French Mike unless anyone has diagnostic for webasto and is not too far.
Thanks. Lee.

Default Solved

Finally good news to add to this thread .
After a suggestion that my seemingly fine dosing pump could be the culprit, I today replaced it, all be it with scepticism only to be proven completely wrong when my FBH managed to achieve 80c in under 20 mns then ramped down into chill out mode. So despite the regular clicking sound and fuel being supplied it appears the pump was not up to the job. Thanks to everyone who posted up especially 75driver and good luck to Gino as his FBH adventure begins.
Lee.

Good to hear, I've just the pump to fit and test. I've got the heater all connected and it does make a quiet noise but until I feed it some fuel I don't know if it's fine or not.

Aside from a genuine dosing pump being found to be faulty, beware of the new cheap dosing pumps on E bay, we have tested a few and they dont pump out enough fuel
