In my personal opinion I think it is so much better than Tasker, and it's free.

Tasker is just too complicated to use for it's own good. Whereas Automatelt does everything you want it to do.

Give it a try and let me know, I'll share my triggers with you.

As it is now this is how it works;

When my tab receives a 12v power supply the following happens;

1. Wifi, GPS and BT on
2. Screen orientation locked to landscape
3. Wifi connects to my phone
4. When BT connects to the BT adapter, Spotify launches
5. Screen brightness 100%
6. Volume 100%
7. Screen timeout set to 23h59m59s

All this happens within a couple of seconds.

When there is no 12v power supply, all the above is reversed, with the addition of;

1. All apps are killed regardless of what state they are in
2. Screen timeout set to 5 seconds
3. After screen has timed out for 10 secs, an app launches in the background called Fast Reboot which silently restarts all services on tab and clears all RAM for next use so it's not laggy.

I've also got a nifty little app called Black Screen Saver, where when you tap it it just turns the screen black and tap it again and it comes back on. I find it handy for night motorway runs.

Any chance of some photos?

Hi,

No, I have not had a noise. I went back out and had a play after reading your post and found I could get a hissing if I pulled the connector out the tiniest fraction. Mine wedges against the fascia surround, so this may be stopping it.

Cheers,

Dave

So far, my fave app to run whilst driving is Torque Pro. If I had a K series, I'd have it start with the ignition

It even matches my blue dials, radio and ATC

With automatelt you can have torque pro launch when it connects to your OBD2 adapter

I only need the headphone jack and the 12v charger. Oh and the Bluetooth dongle for the app, do you have a link for that?

love this kind of modding

Davey, what's with the hazard and door lock switches being relocated below ATC, or more to the point, what's gone where they used to reside ?

I constantly got a hissing sound using the aux cable so switched to a 3.5mm bluetooth A2DP adapter. Sorted out the hissing sound straight away.

Also found that using A2DP my treble, mids and sub were much more pronounced. Also the sub was much more punchier.
