Welcome to The Club.
Just around Town that still seems a Bit low but will remain in th 20's until you combine it with some runs. The Trouble is the Auto Box never gets out of First or Second Gear around Town. Firstly I would check the MAF Sensor as this is the main thing when it goes that causes excessive fuel Consumption. See also Rover Ron's helpful Pages at top of Page and a Cheaper way to replace MAF's. There is of course plenty of Threads on this Subject and with the Auto-Box on a mixed run you should be getting at Minimum around the Low 40's MPG. Mileages do differ a Lot between members, Mods help give you more, but style of driving, Tyre pressures and Make of Tyre all effect this. Last edited by JohnDotCom; 17th December 2007 at 09:10.. |

Have you got the on board computer and is that where you are getting the MPG figures from ??
If so have you reset it since you have had the car ?? The readout is an average taken from the point where it was last reset to current point. To reset get to the MPG display and hold button at the end of the stalk in until the reading zeros. Sorry if I am mentioning something that you already know |
