Considering buying a ZT
On the 5th of February I will have had my present 75 diesel for 10 years (and have no intention of getting rid of it) so, call it mid-life crisis if you like, but I'm toying with the idea of of buying a ZT 2.5 V6 this year as a bit of a change, by now I'm used to the Diesel 75 and the ins and outs of it all but the ZT petrol would be a completely different beast so what are the differences, such as reliability, what's the life of the V6 etc?

I would recommend it.
I have had 3 x V6's (2 X ZT's) and not had a problem with the engines bar the normal V6 bits . We also have a diesel in the family alongside the ZT 190 and both are really good cars. The ZT needs a few more revs than the diesel on early acceleration but after that it really is good and the noise is superb Our Diesel is a contemporary so the difference in handling is minimal but the ZT has much better handling than our previous V6 75 although some find it harsh Just got for a ZT that has been well maintained and you will be fine. Worth it for a mid life crisis

Well my idea is that with a ZT you can have a bit of fun for not a lot of money, thus only scratching the surface of the kids inheritance
Talking to the chap in the garage where I have the 75 MOT'd and serviced the sound of the V6 is 'mmmmm' mind you his eyes went a bit funny when he said it! The fuel consumption to be honest does not really matter as it's not going to be a daily runner. Last edited by maxi_crawf; 1st February 2016 at 13:06.. |

My daily driver is a ZT cdti and my weekend toys a ZT190 and TF160. I've also previously had a ZT190 that now belongs to my friend and a ZT-T160 V6.
The V6 is a much nicer sounding engine and much smoother, if it wasn't for the fuel economy being much better on the diesel I'd sell the diesel and use the 190 daily. |
