After being fed up of the uncomfortable ride on the Connie and enjoying a nice ride in my tourer this weekend, I thought I'd browse Ebay and also the Facebook selling pages to see what a set of Unions may cost me. About 10 miles away someone was selling four clean wheels with centre caps and the tyres were nearly new although budget. He wanted £100 for them but a cheeky bid of £80 and they were mine.
So off with the 18 inch Hairpins and on with the 16 inch Unions and then off for a road test...… Wow ! I have a new car ! |

As the Connie is sorted ,today I've had a look as to why I have an intermittent brake pad warning light showing on the Tourer . As I had a new spring fitted by a garage under my AA breakdown cover to my o/s/f , I just knew it would have something to do with them. Lo and behold they hadn't clipped in the sensor wire properly and it was loose on the calliper and the wire was rubbing on the drive shaft. As the small spring clip has gone missing that holds it in the pad and the wire is rubbed through I've just soldered the wires and pushed it behind the arch liner. Garages just couldn't seem to care less.
Any how the light is off and I'll just check the pads the old fashioned way when I service her. |

Couldn't open the N/S rear door today using the outside door handle, door would open from inside handle though.
Off comes the door-card for a look see, I couldn't see anything broken though, so I lubricated all the mechanism that I could see, and hey presto we have a working door mech. |

Had a new near side front wheel bearing installed and second hand turbo fitted as the original had failing oil seals and I’ve already lost one engine to that. Tracking up afterwards took longer than both jobs combined. I’m beginning to think my car is twisted!

Changed the front discs and brake pads on the tourer. Both Borg and Beck so will see how they go.
Changed the rear N/S pads and wheel bearing. Unipart on the old mintex discs. Didn't change the O/S caliper and pads though still couldn't get the brake hose off so plan b new hose ordered and will change it from the solid pipes. Job for the weekend. Hoovered and Washed the ZT as it's getting filthy being the daily Think that's enough car work for today. Scott |
