But it's an easy enough job to do and the forum how to is very good
The 'half a tank', gives a clue as to just how frequently the entire contents of the tank is pumped through the fuel filter, but I would hate to have been on a two wheeler following you - nasty stuff diesel on tarmac

Getting that air box cover back in place properly, such that you can screw the allan bolt back in is a nack. That bolt (rear/middle) is the first one I try, so I know whether the box is properly located or not.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Just a quick update - all running like clockwork after the filter change and MOT.
A lovely car - suffers with the Mk2 Fuel Pressure Regulator whine, and rattly roof lining (she's a tourer with no sunroof, so I expected this!)

Turning the volume knob on the radio seems to resolve the first issue, the roof rattle is a lot louder so I'll be using my usual trick of a length of cardboard rolled into a tube and shoved through the interior light aperture... seems to work fine.

For those who don't know, Tourers without a sunroof suffer with this issue as the roof lining detaches from the roof itself with age, and rattles against it - the solution is to either drop the lining and re-attach, or separate them slightly.
I use option B!

Where about exactly does the headlining detach itself from the roof?

It seems to be 1/3 to 1/2 way back (from the front) on this one - and from memory my last 75 Tourer was the same too.

My ZT-T has a sunroof, and sunroof models don't seem to suffer the same issue.

It's not - it's a well documented issue on here, and is the lining itself rattling against the roof.
I did quite a lot of exploring on my own car before I found the threads on here detailing the issue - cars with a sunroof still have the light, but don't suffer with the rattle.

The sunroof has its own rattle, when it is up (tilted) for a bit of ventilation. Mine doesn't rattle straight away, only after a few miles of being tilted. A quick push up with my hand, fixes it for a few more miles of silence.

Yours rattles eh?
I was coming back from an away match, late at night on an A road, and was feeling for the drivers window switch. I got the nearside rear window instead which at the time would come down but not up again.
As it got lower there was the loudest banging I've ever heard in my life! It was so loud I shouted at the top of my voice 'WHAT THE *&!" IS THAT?!!! and I couldn't hear myself. I thought my car had the pulse detonation system fitted.
I pulled up and wound the window up from it's door switch, but blimey! what a racket.
Bit more than a rattle

Hi there Matt, Have you got any news on my enquiry about reproduction exhaust trims for our cars from your fabricator ?
