Default Steel seal, and help with searching the forums

Hello again, I seem to be posting on here nearly every day. Anyway, my beautiful car is a lovely silver 2.5L V6 2001 reg, 190+ petrol MG ZT-T, and I m still having trouble with it. I was noticing the heating was getting warm, even after a long run, and no matter how long I ran it it just would not get warm. I checked all the sensors etc and everything checked out. After running it for a while the thermostat appeared to do as required, and it opened just when it should. So I reached out to the previous owner, as I have done before, and he told me that he got mayonnaise in the oil filler cap, so he poured 2 or 3 bottles of steel seal into the cooling system, to hopefully sort it. I have dealt with steel seal before and it created more trouble than it solved. I emptied the cooling system and fitted a hose and ran the hose for about half an hour. Then I put in 2 bottles of cooling system flush, I forget the manufacturers name but it was yellowy green, as is their coolant, and their screenwash, then I topped it up with water. I then ran the car for an hour with that mix in it, turned the car off, and waited. The following day I drained the system, hosed it out, and refilled with a water/coolant mix, to manufacturers instructions. Started the car and left it running for 45 minutes with no dramas. I took it out today for the first time since then, and no heating. Can somebody give me a clue as to what to do, please
Second thing is, how do I do a search on the forums so that I am not posting the same thing as someone else has done previously to me. I put in the search bar ag the top of the page what am hoping to find, and press enter. It then takes me off the 75 ZT website and onto a normal search on Google, and it has nothing to do with my search on the forums.
I do apologise for forever being on here with problems, but at this moment in time I would like to keep the MG, but that might change very soon if the problems keep coming up.
I thank you so much for reading this far, kind regards, Alan

At the top of the page and towards the right is the word Search in a redish bar. Click search and a little drop down menu appears.
If you select Advanced Search the page that loads allows you to search for words in the thread title, words in the posts of the thread and also which section of the forum to search and by which member.

Don't worry about asking questions, we like questions

good luck

Hi Alan,

Activate the digital display of your coolant temperature and report back on what you see. It's possible that the Steel Seal has sealed your heater matrix but alternatively it may have damaged the thermostat or both!

Unlike K-seal, Steel Seal doesn't contain any copper filings or fibrous material, so hopefully is less prone to causing blockages. That said, I have read other posts where it's been accused of wreaking havoc.

Another member, MGJohn (now sadly no longer with us), described a method of removing K-seal through multiple flushes using Holts Speedflush: https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...10&postcount=7

It's probably blocked the heater matrix - we sell quite a lot of these, and a good portion of those replaced have some sort of 'goop' present when removed and inspected.
If you can't get your matrix cleared, we have new here: https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/products/rov...0170-jef000120

Good luck!
