Default Registration number

Hello all,
Wonder if anyone knows the keeper of the ZT-T that has number plate MG51ROV and if it could be for sale.
I'd be extremely interested if it is.

Thanks

Paul

Strange one. The tax ran out in 2017, but the MOT expired in 2013, when the vehicle was only 7 years old, and it was not put in for one. MOT history shows no real problems so most odd. As I understand it, the plate is now non -transferable, unless the vehicle is MOTd.

If the plate has been removed from the car and a different registration has been fitted it plays up with the mot dates when they expired I have had 2 different number plates on mine plus the original. I put it one on retention when mot ran out as you can do that within so many months . When I tried having a new mot with the cars original plate the car could not be found on DVLA system took a while to sort it out.
The chances are that plate is on retention in a cubard I had a couple I forgot about

The plate was an MG Rover Group corporate registration and there are photographs of it on the ZT 260 used by 'Phoenix 4' member John Edwards.

The plate stayed with the remains of the company when NAC / SAIC took control, and the car its currently assigned to is / was a Firefrost ZT-T. It is very likely the car has now been ‘cleared’ from the site.

The DVLA do occasionally re-issue plates which have been scrapped or lost. This one is only of interest to aficionados to idiots like us on this forum, so doubt it will re-appear. I did watch R3 VER when it was auctioned recently - it sold for a reasonable £1300, but is now on offer at a dealers for £30,000, so I guess I would have been constantly outbid. As I have a number of Rover related plates I am pleased that I didn't chase it!
