Wink Winter locking woes

After answering a thread on another group about the usual Winter locking issues and saying that I'm having no problems this year, I was obviously tempting fate as it happened this morning.

Now instead of the usual "door won't lock" scenario this time the IPK "door open" was illuminated so the horn gave a mis lock beep when the fob was pressed, meaning of course the car was not armed so I reckoned that If I push down all the door plungers and then try the key instead to lock the driver's door it would work but no it just unlocks all the doors again! so I then opened each door in turn and pushed the plunger and shut each door and it worked so I now have a locked but unarmed car, now I reckon that as the car is unarmed the alarm is not active, I'm concerned that the alarm could go off during the day in the station car park and upset the neighbours but I'm hoping it's unlikely, any thoughts folks?

This is an annual issue for many owners and seems to be related to how much moisture freezes in the lock mechanism, I usually liberally lubricate them with WD40 but haven't done so this year, my main question was: in order Tobe able to lock and therefore secure the car with this problem active using the method I discribed would it affect the ECU and trigger the alarm even if as I said I did not atm it?
