My Rover 75 CDTi connoisseur 2002 tourer Central locking and unlocking problem

Hi' can anyone please help to diagnose the problem with my door locking please.
I cannot get the drivers door to open at all but the rear doors open and close with the key
I changed the lock actuator in the drivers door with the help of my mechanic and it worked initially but the problem has come back again
I have tried disconnecting the car battery to reset the ECU and reprogramming the key fob but to no avail. I am at a complete loss to know what to do, Please can someone help.

Probably the connecting link in the door has come off.

As you have been inside the door I guess you would know where to find it.
