Car expired on A180
Wife was driving in current horrid weather when the ZT simply expired whilst doing about 60mph, no idea why yet just hope it's nothing too drastic. Fuel is low but not seriously, couldn't really check anything due to the lovely weather got the car recovered to work and will take it to the garage opposite tomorrow, no time to look myself.

If fuel is below a quarter of a tank and it just conked out and refused to restart it may point to a faulty in tank fuel pump.
If the pump is working and there is a lack of pressure it could be fuel filter syndrome, search FFS or fabled orange clip. |

They don't, ffs is on petrol engines only.
If you have plenty of fuel in the tank. Try easy start, and do an injector leak test. ... |

Soaked MAF may be an option as well if it was perssisting it down and a lot of spray about.

Your car can run on the UBP as long as you don't let the fuel level get below 1/4 full..

I suppose so but that is not terribly practical and will strain the ubp, pity that the wife ran the fuel low though!

New pump from jules fitted by my local garage today and all appears well, ITP that I fitted only 2 years back failed after no more than 25k it was an Mkon one and as usual it seems that cheap pattern parts aren't much good these days
