Default Harmon Kardon upgrade or aftermarket?

Hey guys

Not happy with the sound quality in my 75 mk1. Have the standard speakers and they're quite poo. And I think one of them is crackling. Would like to upgrade. Aim is to keep it nice and subtle but want good sound. Would like some bass as well. Not sure for the price whether it's worth buying some aftermarket components and speaker and sub and amp etc. or whether to upgrade to the Harmon Kardon factory upgrade? What do you reckon? Also, what would I need to upgrade to HK? Is there a list of the parts that I need for factory spec HK? Thanks. Ravinder.

For factory hk, you need all the speakers, sub, amp, mounting brackets and the all important loom. The loom is a separate item o the cars main loom and is easily swapped over.

Just one amp, 6 channels, XQK100190, it fits in the boot along with the sub woofer, XQA100000.

Just to clarify guys, there are 4 different amlifiers with the HK system:
XQK100190 - Saloon Without Highline
XQK100310 - Saloon With Highline
XQK100320 - Tourer Without Highline
XQK100330 - Tourer With Highline

They were made for a reason, people fitting the incorrect amp have had issues with the sound and feedback so source the correct amp for your car.
