Default "plastic" trim renovator.

We have all seen the black trim on cars discolour i.e. go grey. This happened on a Rover216 1999 which was anthracite black and the rubbing strips and and front vents, I have used Servisol Refurb140 on these parts and it restored the black finish. Made a world of difference. Also used on the acres of trim in a similar condition on Fiat Doblo and the plenum intake panels on MGZT. It works, seems to last and I have no connection with the company! Chris S.

But how long does it last? I've been using Autoglym Bumper & Trim Gel, which is good for about three months on the scuttle panel (which seems to discolour more quickly than other parts) and longer on other bits like mirror housings and the lower grille that houses the front fog light.

I've found the Gtechiq C4 to be good but it isn't the permanent fix it says on the box. I suppose the original plastic faded eventually. It seems to last about six months.

Try peanut oil or hazelnut oil. Beats any fancy bottle and have used it for donkeys years even on the Rover 100 bumpers that used to go white. Clean the trim let it dry, apply with a cloth and leave to soak in. Wait an hour or two and do again. Fantastic stuff!

Carpro DLux for me, it seems expensive at first, but a little goes a looooong way, and lasts for a minimum of six months.

Worth a read: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=287064

Forever black.

Not just a surface product, a plastic dye. Works best after a heat gun application.

Its been on the Front bumper louvres and side rubbing strips of a Rover200 for just over 14months now and shows no sign of deterioration. But I expect it has a finite life. Chris.S

I really like ValetPro's black to the future gel. Little goes a long way, and realpy does soak into dry trim, bringing the colour back.
