The ELM327 does not work with Phil's software.

Hi all,

Seem to have a problem getting IPK changer to work. It works fine on my Windows 7 PC, but won't work on my Windows 10 laptop or PC. The program downloads fine, and also opens up fine, but the correct coms port won't show. On my PC it only shows Coms 1 as an option which doesn't connect, and on my laptop it doesn't show any coms connections at all.

Any ideas? On my windows 7 pc it connects via Coms 8 fine.

Cheers,
Rick

My anti-virus program (Microsoft Security Essentials) says the file contains a virus and wipes it out immediately.

Happened to me too, you have to go into the security options, to allow the file. The instructions to do that in this thread did not work for me, maybe for a different version of W10, but I got there eventually.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Does anyone have a link to where I can get the right lead to use?

The earlier link to a supplier is no longer available.

Thanks

There is nothing wrong with the software at all, try to disable defender and you should be fine.
The program itself is fine.
If you struggle then PM me an email and I can send it you.
Ken.
