What is the tool you used to melt the pile of the mat?
Did you melt the whole area where the badge will go or just the outline? Thank you

The tool is called Pyrograph. The whole outlined area - up to the net core.

But actually now that I know what you used, it looks as though my ordinary soldering iron would do the job - it has about the same temperature range and is adjustable. I’ll try it on an old mat first. Thanks. |

If you are trashing the old front factory mats, it is possible to salvage the original floor fixings too and fit them to new mats. I did a thread some time ago.

Where to attach my mats?

Talking of floor fixing, on my genuine sandstone Rover front mats (but without logo) I've one hole on each of them: what is its use because I don't see anywhere anything to attach them to? Under the mat I've got indeed the original sandstone Rover carpeting. Had I missed anything?

I don't understand nevertheless. My floor mats are genuine Rover ones: they've even got underneath the original label with the informations. So what is missing?

Same question...
You're a joker, @hrissim, and your weird quote doesn't give me any practical clue about my questionning!
But you were right indeed: I'd missed that I've actually two holes in each my front mats. Hence remain my initial wondering: what to do with those holes given that the carpet underneath has nothing to correspond with them? And don't try to get out of it with a hazy quote!
