I got up for a pee at 6.30 looked out the window and there was a covering of snow on the vehicles and grass, all gone now though. Pretty much the same weather here sunny but no heat . Last 2 night's the rat has been back in the greenhouse; had no activity for about a month but last 2 nights so the buggar won't last long. Have to say the traps are useless, I set them right on the edge but they never go off.

Morning all, morning Richard, how are you?

Rats are a blooming nuisance. One method we used was to put a mix of cement and chicken wire to fill up the rat holes. Their teeth do not like the wire.

We had long tails visiting regularly from the museum/old mine next door. Would get them hoovering up dropped seeds around the bird feeders. Tried traps, the enclosed box type things, all they ever caught was one poor wee mouse. Can't use poison because of the girls. Most effective thing proved to be the air rifle, lost count of how many I despatched but they took the hint, can't remember when I last saw one.

I'm probably teaching granny to suck eggs here but have you tried....

Peanut butter

Seriously - we've had great success with a normal trap & peanut butter.

If we could catch one and coat it in peanut better Quizzie might eat it but otherwise she'd just want to play with it .

Catch up next weekend - we're on babysitting duty again.

All the best to your mum. Family first .

If we don't get together there will be other times .

As for the rat try bits of sausage - not Quorn ones though

Take care, keep happy.

Afternoon all, The suns out but by heck is it cold out there, a couple of snow flurries have rolled through, Look like another sub zero temp overnight so I'm bringing a lot of plants into the conservatory tonight to be on the safe side. The catts will be banned out of there.

I don't know about salad weather it's more like soup weather again, There will be ham shanks & dumpling mix on the shopping list next week

I've made a cottage pie for tea tonight with sprouts, carrots & peas.

Frost
Sunshine
Rain
Sleet
Snow
Hail

And now its sunny again

Caravan all prepped and ready for tomorrows journey to her seasonal home

Lonely days are long
Twilight sings a song
All the happiness that used to be

Soon my eyes will close
Soon I'll find repose
And in dreams, you're always near to me

I'll see you in my dreams
And then I'll hold you in my dreams
