Unhappy Life's bigger problems

You're fuelling the car at the petrol station, you stop the trigger & the display reads £29.97 You know that if you squeeze again it'll read £30.01

Do you risk it

It would all depend on whether you intend paying in the
first place

Nah, just pay the £29-97. It's on the card anyway. You start to think the pump is 'loaded' like a fruit machine, and will always trip over the whole numbers.

Cool

Just buy a V8. Whatever change you have, is never in your pocket long enough to worry about.

Or use an automated one where you select £30 and it automatically stops bang on £30 if paying by cash and it's all you have.

Leave it at £29.97. If you take it over 30 quid, you run over your contactless limit, and you have the hassle of putting your card into the machine, typing in your pin, realising you've put the wrong pin in, putting the right pin in, realising one of the buttons sticks, deleting and reentering the pin making sure all the buttons work OK, realise that you've put the wrong card in, and finally paying cash.
