That looks like quality workmanship. Fortunately mine doesn't need any bodywork................ Yet.

The standard of work certainly does look excellent, BUT....as I've said before, where are the drain holes ???
The original section had one (which wasn't enough) and is any rust prevention fluid, such as Dinatrol sprayed inside ? If so, there are normally some signs somewhere of it seeping through the panel joints, but I can't see any ? Yet it's in the spotwelded seams where the worst corrosion occurs. It'd be a great shame if all these excellent repair jobs start to rust through again in just a few years for the sake of some carefully placed holes and a decent blast of waxoyl.....

I don't know about the drain holes but he did tell me he treated it with some rust prevention after the paint had dried.

(That’s the drain holes, not the rusty type 🤣

Maybe Tom's early repairs did not have drain holes and perhaps I should drill a hole although I did put a load of Dinitrol in through the press in cap in the wheel arch. Martyn |
