David, Is it possible to replace only the rear bush without releasing the arm ball joints.?
I have some play at the bush but other parts seem sound. Probably not enough end clearance to do this.

That sounds promising. Looking at some of the posted pictures the body work seemed too close to allow this. Garage with a car lift may be my way to go.

You did well there dave...Btw, on mine, after i did my nearside, the same tyre went through the outer edge in circa 10 weeks. Took it to ProTyre ( In Eastleigh ) and they reckon it was way out, they did the adjustments for £30. Straight after, i had a part worn fitted and its still looking good now.

Can you buy the ball joint alone or must you purchase the complete arm?

As far as i'm aware only the bush is available on it's own, so you can buy a bush, an arm or an arm with bush already fitted.

It sounds like removing the bush from the arm isn't too hard once it's off the car, but has anyone tried to remove the arm from the bush without removing bush from car first? It sounds like removing the bush housing bolts is one of the hardest parts of the job and I'm wondering if I can switch just the arm now without disturbing the bush and then do both bushes when I have more time.

Mine has failed with the balljoint being the culprit. Can the lower arm be removed with just the balljoints cracked?

It can but it is much easier to unbolt the rear bush also otherwise you'll be on hours trying to get the old wishbone out of the bush and the new one in I was and then I ended taking it all off again to replace the bush anyway
