i had to pull my cheapo Polish one off my CDT - it was half falling down and scraping on every speedbump and in the end even on undulations in the motorway at speed.

Rubbish quality, resonated something rotten, and never sat right. Holes were not lined up, clearly made by someone who had never been within half a mile of the underside of a Rover.

If you do get some ordered Matt, count me in for one for the new V6 we have - its missing its tray I noticed today!

I shall do - I only mention our possible ordering of a large batch in case the manufacturer does run out, and doesn't want to commission a large batch for their own stock.

Ken.
I was wondering why the 75 did not have a oil drain hatch like the 45 has.
It makes changing the oil very easy as you don't have to remove the under tray.

Is this feasible ?

Anyone done this ?

Mat,
The impression I got when speaking to Alan at Hampsons was that they would not be producing any more under trays once their current stock was sold, however, he did say that as they own the tooling for the trays, they'd be open to someone commissioning a production run, but it'd have to be in the region of 300 units to make it viable. The tooling takes a minimum of eight hours to heat up and therefore it wouldn't be economical to set the presses up to undertake a small production run,

Good on yer Matt. I always believe, don't ask, don't get. And they can only say NO at the worst. Good luck.

Do you strip the old sound deadening off before applying the new one? And how did you apply it? Thanks

I didn`t use an old tray Rav, it was a new shiny one from eBay.
I would assume you would have to scrape it off and then get rid of any oil otherwise you won`t get it to stick.
Ken.
