Default P0107 map sensor fault

Help needed!

My much loved (rarely used) 2.5v6 is showing a fault code on the map sensor. This only happened after I removed the power VIS. I removed the power vis- cleaned it and reinstalled it, the revs were high and it stalled after gentle throttle. I fear I may have caused the problem because I started the car with the vis motor disconnected.
I am really annoyed as this feels like a self inflicted wound!
So, I suspect that the vis motor is defective but the main problem is that it’s idling roughly and too fast- before I touched the vis motor it was fine.

HI Greg.
When you refit the power vis did you make sure the arm within the manifold was out as far as it goes, if not the peg on the vis motor may not be aligned within the arm it's self ? also remove the MAP sensor spray it with some electrical contact cleaner only, it is held in with two posidrive screws.
