Default Spoilt By Modern Delivery Options

As others too, I remember those days when making purchases by mail-order, we were always told that the item would be delivered within 28 days, that was accepted. These days, we have been so spoilt by the choices of delivery companies and services, that when we have not received our item within 3 days, at least I and many others get annoyed, we've become used to it.
This week I ordered an ignition coil Sunday? then get the emails/texts informing me of it's location in the delivery chain.
I know it was Maundy Thursday, but whilst helping out a friend I got a notification that as I was not home for the attempted delivery early afternoon, it had been returned to the depot, Royal Mail. When I got into my emails I found I could get it re-delivered, which, as Good Friday is a Bank Holiday, I chose Easter Saturday, to then get a confirmation that delivery will be on Tuesday. Frustrated as I cannot do the task on the car now I try to console myself that it will still be within 28 days.

This posting took longer than anything else concerned with the purchase.
