Default Master brake cylinder Part SJC100410

A Rover 75 1.8 an “S” reg needs the above part. So far the owner has not been able to find the correct part that fits. He is contemplating scrapping his 75 if he cannot find the replacement for it

Any ideas or suggestions please?

Why not rebuild it?

All Car Parts Fast are showing it in stock. Phone to check before ordering, not unknown to show "ghost parts" in stock.

Default Brake Master Cylinder

The Rover one with the part number quoted does appear to be NLA but Rimmers currently are showing stock of the ZT version SJC000080 for £95.00 plus VAT making £114.00 total. I have been told by someone well qualified to know that the only difference is that the ZT version has a slightly larger internal bore, and should therefore fit and work in any 75 as well.

I chatted to the owner on messenger a few minutes ago and he is going to his garage to take some photos later which I will post up. He did order a replacement but when it came, the housing was thicker than the original. It wouldn’t fit, 000080 is what arrived.

Thank you all for your help. He has seen the thread but is not in a position to answer himself.

The original has a valve at the bottom. The top photo is the correct one. The last photo is incorrect.

The part he needs is Lucas 3065
