Cool Redfive heading for Essex and ....................

............................................ North London tomorrow.
Meeting up with Allen tomorrow at 6am, my co-driver, and off we go.

First stop will be back at the flat to collect a few bits I left behind thinking I did not need them. Then down to the High Street. First place is the bank, then into the solictor's about change of address. Next door, literally, is the chemist to pick up my last prescription from them. Then just 4 doors along is the doctors, again to let them know that I've left.

Into the Fairlop Oak, Wetherspoon's for a late breakfast/early lunch. Then we will drive over to Totteridge in North London to collect my very special ZT. Yup! "The Flying Banana" is coming back to Cornwall to her new home. There are plans afoot for her but more on that later on.
Allen will be driving Redfive back, complete with her noisy top strut bearings.

So should you see us heading up the A38-M5-M4-Car Park-M11 and the A1400,
And our trip back will be A1400-A406-A1-Car Park-M4-M5 and A38 don't forget to toot, wave or flash those restored lights.

We will still submit a report for our loyal followers.

Cool Well, what a trip that was ..........

..................................... With Allen taking the wheel for the first part of the drive up to Essex we was off. The weather was wet, that sort of drizzle that makes you wet. We stopped off at the Esso garage close to the start of the M5. Redfive needed a top up. Then we carried on up the M5, traffic was light and Allen was able to crack on.

Soon filtering off onto the M4 traffic was picking up a bit but we was still travelling ok. Once clear of the junction we was able to wind the rubber band up. We stopped at Membury services for a wee and a coffee. We swapped over the driving duties and with me behind the wheel I was able to maintain Warp Factor 3 all the way to the M25. And it was reasonably clear on our side but on the other side it was just one long traffic jam.

The M11 was soon in sight, again traffic was light. Not long before we was turning into my old turning. I waited for the memories to start rolling down my cheeks. But nothing happened. We parked on the hard standing, again I had no emotions about the flat. I showed Allen the garden then the lethal stairs.
Once in the flat I thought the tears would get the better of me but nothing happened, no tears, no feelings. Think it might have been because none of my possessions were there.

We took the mop out of the kitchen, needed at the new place. I left some paperwork I had found. Next thing we took was the dustbin, it's mine anyway. With those things loaded in the car. Then we was off to the High Street. Parked ole Red in the pay and display car park. First port of call was the bank, then into the chemist to collect my prescription. Next door in the solicitors we met a fellow forum member, "Tracker", I introduced Ratty to him. Then we had a chat before we left and into the doctors to let them know the news. Then we double backed to The New Fairlop Oak, the Wetherspoon pub.

We ordered a bacon bap with a mug of tea. Well, we got the tea ok. And then we each got a bacon, sausage, egg and hash brown rolled up in a tortilla type wrap, and very tasty it was.
After we had our nosh we was off again. This time over to Michaels to collect ole Yella. We hit some traffic on the A406 at the junction with the A10. But we were soon diving down the back roads through Palmers Green up past Aldermans park. Then we was in Hampden square which is a roundabout then down through Osidge, and up Russel lane.

Soon turning into Whetsone High Street before nipping down Totteridge Lane. I braced Allen before showing him the state of Michaels front garden. We started Banana up and let her run for awhile before pulling off of the drive. Allen was now following with Redfive.
Banana was not happy, first the engine light came on then she only wanted to run on 3 of her cylinders.
Turned her off then re-started and she seemed to clear her throat.

We were soon on the A1 and heading towards the M25 and onwards towards Cornwall and home. Traffic was running ok in places. Soon we was on the M4. We was spotted by a former forum member and our photo of Rhubarb n Custard was posted up on Facebook. It was best described as a very spirited drive back, just stopping the once for a wee and a drink.
And we was soon turning into my drive and now we all 3 parked up.

We saw a total of 6 Rover 75's, 1 Rover 45, 1 Rover 25, 2 MG TF's and a MG GS.

Quote of the day was when Allen said, "It's got more poke than my 75". Al was referring to Redfive's power.

Wait till he drives the V8.................. That has some awesome poke.

Thanks for reading.

Going to get them around to the pub and line them up, the cars not the pints. That's later.
