I am starting to think it does not matter how much you pay for a battery it seems a bit of a lottery. Only on Friday I had to replace a battery on a friends car that was less than 6 months old, this was a Bosch with a 5 year warranty.

My guess the manufacturers are cutting costs so if they do fail the odd one that does go back is easily paid for by the extra profit.

A lot of people replace there cars every couple of years so unless the paperwork is handed over to the new owner the probably get away with it in a lot of cases, its only the long term and classic car owners who are claiming most of the time.

Update..

As was getting no help from the Supplier i went onto Yuasa on F-book.

Initially they were sounding helpful, but then the Shoulders started sloping, and they've made the Assumption that its low milage use thats the problem based on the MOT history ? .

But in the mean time as a last resort the battery has been on a Massive Snap ON charger with lots of fancy modes, and it been on a high charge then discharge cycle.

Over about 4 cycles its gradually improved to the point it passes a heavy load test.

And its on my Dizzle being tried out.. all seems ok at the mo' we will see if it holds its own when the really cold spells start .

Yes Chris, battery connected all the time, outside in all weathers, no garage.

You can give them my registration and they can check my MOT's.

Of course there are lots of ways a battery can go flat without it being the fault of the battery.---

Ran this problem battery on my Dizzle ( Diesel for other regions ) for a week now , instant starting even on a below zero day.

Then yesterday .... Started up for work instantly as usual .. 1/2 mile up the road ( forgot phone? got my Cards in it .) doh!!. turn round back home park , outside pop in retrieve phone, back out into car and Click click ? no start .

Swap back to the orignal yuasa and all back to normal ? ..
