Default Looking for 18G1747-4 Cam Turning Tool

I am looking to buy an 18G1747-4 Cam Turning Tool for the KV6.
This tool isn't included in the Belt Service Kit
It has a round end with a locating lug that fits into the end of the exhaust cam and has a hex end allowing you to turn the cam with a wrench.
It is much more compact than the multi-purpose cam holding/turning tool in the sets and greatly reduces the chance of fracturing the brittle end of the camshaft.
If anyone has one they would like to sell and post to me in Canada that would be appreciated. Leads as to where I could by one are appreciated also.
(No luck with either Sealey, Laser or AST)

Hello Rich,

You're looking at the service tools in RAVE aren't you. Those were supplied to dealers and your aftermarket version of 18G1747-2 (the front camshaft holding tool) should have provision for a spanner or a square 1/2 inch. drive at the end of the exhaust camshaft part, mine has.

The end of the exhaust camshaft will only be damaged if (1) the operator is ham fisted and careless or (2) they are not using the service tools according to the official method.

On my tool set the portion of the front locking tool is quite long. It ends to foul on the A/C piping and it is awkward getting the wrench on it then turning the wrench with my left hand while fitting the rear pulley onto the other end of the cam.
The 18G1747-4 is much more compact and gets the wrench much closer to the end of the cam. I am just trying to make the job a little bit easier. Every time I do KV6 belts I tell myself that's the last time but I am always wrong with the prediction so I may as well get the proper kit! I am kicking myself for not buying one I saw on E-bay a couple of years ago

It is, yes. There will be another pair of hands available at a dealership but we have to do the best we can.
I hope you find the tool you're after.

yes your right simon. its something you have to learn to live with ! just as the access to the pesky caps for the camshaft end seals when you refit. i usually tie back the aircon pipe best i can with some tie wraps ... they dont need moving that far away ... but it helps .
