I don’t watch BBC news now, but will keep my TV licence as it allows me to watch other programmes from BBC and other broadcasters.

To get rid of it would, to me, be cutting my nose off to spite my face.

Why is it the BBC always seem to put a bad slant on the news?

I just don't get it, they always seem to be trying to make it sound worse than it is.
My area, (Redcar & Cleveland), was also quoted (by the Daily Express I think) as being on the verge of another lockdown. Reason? - the number of positive tests had increased from 0 to 1

The short answer is that "bad news sells papers"! Most people like a crisis, in fact they positively revel in it. Read 'Scared to Death' by Christopher Booker and Richard North; it's very enlightening and highly relevant to topical subjects such as Brexit and Covid19.

Oh, and it's a trifle unfair to single out the BBC. All the mainstream media promote bad news.

I think the BBC have fallen into the trap of so-called social mewdia. Success is measured by two things. The number of people you can offend who write online and mention your name and the number of complaint hits you get on Pratbook.

In terms of value for money it's rubbish, except BBC4, and The News is the biggest repeat station on TV. The Big Beasts are vastly overpaid and act like god creatures when they finally get rumbled and forced out on a massive pension. There should be a poll to change their number on Freeview, ha, what a pseudonym, from 1 to 1000.

Me too. My father was a livid supporter of Bessie Braddock. I even was a Trades union official. Left handed too. That's all true. Let alone my personality disorders.
