I can't see that millions of ordinary people and small businesses not being able to afford these increases ending well either.Perhaps something along the lines of the poll tax protests is the way to go forcing the governor to act.

As much as we dont want to pay these crazy prices for energy for our homes I suspect we are just going to have to get used to it, when petrol went to £2 a litre earlier in the year we still used our cars there were still cars on the road, yes less than normal but only a few percent. Maybe we wil have to put a jumper on and put an extra blanket on the bed?

We have all got used to cheap energy and maybe this is the future? When I was at school the house was never hot but just warm and if I complained I was told to put a jumper on, my bed had sever blankets and I can remember getting up in the morning and feeling cold. My mother would have a blanket over her legs while watching TV.

These people we see on the news everynight that ''dont know how they are going to afford these prices'' I wonder if they know how to economise? How many have the latest I phone, a 50 inch plus TV and probably go out a couple of nights a week? Yes there are going to be some that are truly on the edge of poverty but I suspect many are just looking for a handout.

I's all about control. First Covid, now fuel and power. What next? Food! Water!

We all need certain things to exist and they are all being controlled.

We've been "controlled" since the dawn of time.

Either by politicians, religion, those with wealth or a mixture of all three

Nothing new there then.

To state the obvious, there seems to be a total lack of control just now. At least where it is actually needed. Except, that is, by the money men we never actually get to see. Mammon, I think he’s called.
We are just prisoners here, of our own device.

Interstingly I was talking to my Wifes boy only the other week and he reckoned they have no plans to bring kids into this world. I asked why?. He reckons he thought we were all free but it is just an illusion promoted by the powers that be. He reckons there biggest fear is there an uprising if we realise. Interesting how the young think.

Your wife's son needs educating!

Uprisings are more likely if the majority really believed that they were free - free to do whatever they want or like.

Control is needed to maintain law and order. Just look at how stable some of the Arab countries were under their control regimes until we offered them the illusion of 'freedom'.

There is a lot to be said for each and every person recognising that they are part of a large and interconnected machine of individuals which must keep running as a machine irerspective of the state of an individual cog- through various means of control if necessary.
