KV6 question

I feel a bit of a drip asking this but is the KV6 crankcase designed to accommodate either the auto or manual gearboxes (ie they can both just be bolted onto the end of the same (common) crankcase?
......'cos I'm after a replacement engine sometime soon.

My replacement KV6 engine came out of a mauual and bolted on to my auto box once I had changed the flywheel etc
