SWMBO had a MG Metro. Cracking little go kart of a car. There again I might be biased as I had Mini's so it was the update for the 1275GT I wanted but never had - apart, of course, from a Cooper S which was way out of my price range.
Thanks Rich. |

I never owned one of the Metro's (I welded up a few of them though ) but had two Mk1 minis in my time.

Great little cars. Had a late Ascot a while back.
Have been thinking about getting one for commuting in but a) every time I look they've gone up in price b) I rarely commute anymore...

I had a Metro City X from new, my second car was an MG Metro Turbo which was quite nippy. My ex said “You will always be a Metro Man and own nothing else”... after that, I gave her the boot

My Mrs had one, pile of (insert naughty word). Carb constantly blocked with cr@p. Suspension was cack too, all in all a horrible unreliable car. I know plenty who had a couple of them and no bother at all, ours was second hand not new

My first car was a metro gta, I later upgraded to a metro gtithen I learned if you drained all the suspension fluid the car would be ultra low I was just a teenager, in my defence
