Blakeys - that takes me way back. Didn't know you could still get them.

.
Yes you can still get Blakeys sets. I use them in the heels of all my shoes. £3.00 a card from West Bromwich. You can also get them from the makers.

Thanks David - I did a search on the net and they are cast only a few miles up the road from you in Walsall.

When I read this post I thought I know I will go and look through ebay and see what was the nearest rubber pedal to our Accelerator, this is what I found.

1

Arrived today and seeing that I have to pedals in the shed I tried it to see if it fits width is ok but length is to long.

So cut a little off.
2

Here you can see the width is ok.
3

I left it about 10mm longer than the edge of the pedal
4

View from top of the pedal.
5

Both the pedal boxes I have seem to still have a good tread on them.
6

The left one as a little more wear pointed out.
7

I don't know if the pedal its self can be changed over from the box not really looked yet.
8

How the rubber looks fitted on the pedal in my car, I will test it over a few days weeks to see if it work ok or if it just slips off or even wears out quick and report back.

9

Stay safe out there keep alert Arctic.

Brilliant find! I wonder though would it have been better to (if it was possible) to cut it at the bottom? The pressure of pressing on it with the foot, is pulling it downwards, with the lip at the top, it would assist any adhesives used.

I really want to thank you for your posts, your efforts, and investigations. I appreciate you have an inquisitive mind, and sometimes, just like to know if it will work or not (like me, hence my question above). But I think you go that extra mile and share it with the rest of us.

Alan there is no lip for the rubber at top of the pedal as it's smooth, it could be stuck with adhesive if need be but then you would have trouble removing it if you had to.
