My plug in compressor thingy has lights on it too, and I've even used it to inflate totally flat tyres on the car.

I don't have a foot pump but I do have two heavy duty (commercial) grease guns that I never use, apart from the odd squirt to lube a sticky fitting.

I have an electric (plug into your lighter) pump that came with our VW up as there was no spare tyre, just a can of something that was supposed to seal the leak.
When we sold the VW I kept the pump, it gets used too much for my liking. I have fixed two punctures with the last two month. When I have pushed the bung into the hole it will take it from totally flat to 33 psi in just a couple of minutes. I check the tyre pressures on both cars every couple of weeks with it.

Got one, its a Draper, just happy to have one as it takes up no room and I might need it one day? Chris.S. P.S. Ive two litres of water and a tyre valve core remover/tightener, and a tyre gauge, and a fire extinguisher and a full size spare wheel, and a sharp knife.

I bought one of these -

I have an electric pump in each of the cars - for what they cost nowadays (a basic one is about £15), it's not worth risking getting a flat and not being able to inflate it. On more than one occasion, I've got a slow puncture but been able to re-inflate, carry on the journey, then get it fixed at my leisure
However, my transporter trailer tyres run at around 75psi and I did have trouble finding one that could pump this high. In the end I bought a Sealey one (I think) which lives in the Discovery and can inflate them fully, although they take around 10 minutes from flat to get to this pressure ! I'm not keen on using the cigarette lighter though, prefering to connect directly to the battery terminals, to avoid any chance of melting the car's loom. It's also good to keep the engine running, as the slightly higher voltage helps reduce the required current slightly
