Default Not car related but..

In these troubled times we're in right now, what can be done to help us through? I have an Idea to throw in the ring for possible future use.

If we as a club can keep ourselves in our own loop, why not use our pony express set up to transport food etc to others in our group, many of us are not in the first flush of youth and might need a bit of a hand. If we have a situation where we can help each other internally with anything, we should have a thread of needs and wants at that point. It might not happen and this virus may pass quite quickly but, if members have to self isolate and don't have the resources to furnish themselves with goods and services, I'm sure we can pick up some of the problems they might face. I'm just thinking ahead because it might just become a need for many on here that don't have others to help. We all assume that the food chains will continue but, the workers in food and supply logistics are not immune from this virus, one person ill could close a factory and we have to be prepared for anything.

Over to you lot now for ideas.

Might be a good idea. I wouldn't mind helping someone in need if possible even though I'm in the vulnerable category myself. Let's hope the factories stay open.

Sounds good if we all lived in the same town, but otherwise a non starter.

It is a nice idea but everyone on this forum will have access to shop on line for food.
locally they are asking for volunteers to shop for the elderly.

There are already low lifes out there offering to do shopping for the vulnerable and elderly in order to steal money or get their credit cards and/or bank details. Please warn anyone you know to check before this happens to them. Peace and love to all. Stay safe.

I can't shop online for food, the point I made wasn't just about food though, it's about what we know, what we can spare or do for others on our travels. There are many of us that can travel with our work related jobs and can take things with us on those trips. We can take parts for jobs, bits for household repairs, food of course, books, DVD's, CD's. It's all about being there for someone and that someone might be anyone.

I'd suggested something similar to the other mods this morning. Watch this space

Roy&Rosebud, remember when Rosemary passed away a few years ago? A delightful couple who don’t have any family. Some of us knew them through club meetings. I wonder if Roy needs some help
